- The Detroit Fathers & Families will host its first annual conference at the Samaritan Center in Detroit. The Samaritan Center is located at 5555 Conner Avenue, Detroit, Michigan 48215, April 22-23, 2010. The conference, two full days of workshops, will host national and local thought-leaders and experts in the fatherhood field who will impart strategies to promote the healthy father-child relationship and to facilitate a dialogue and best in class practices to ensure each child in the Detroit community has a father or father-figure in his or her life.
The conference finale event will be the All-Star Father Daughter Award Banquet, on Friday evening also at the Samaritan Center. The event will include a reception beginning at 6:00 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm. We are honored to have Ed Gordon, Emmy Award winning journalist and broadcaster and founder of 'Daddy's Promise' as our guest speaker.
- Director, Robin Wright King, will appear on "Center Stage" with Bankole Thompson, April 10, 2010 to discuss the upcoming conference and father absence in the Detroit area.

- The Detroit Fathers & Families Coalition will participate in the Texas Fatherhood Summit, March 5, 2010. Robin Wright King will present 'Father & Daughters: The Relationship Legacy' workshop.
